The scenario you have just installed is not a stand-alone product. It requires Sid Meier's Civilization II to be installed. Also, you need version Multiplayer Gold (MGE) or version 2.7.81 of the game, both of which are only available with the scenario add-on CD's for Civ II called "Multiplayer Gold Edition" (MGE)and "Fantastic Worlds" (FW).

Under Multiplayer Gold (MGE), however 3x objectives do not work as intended under this version. In this case you will have to calculate the objective points yourself with the excel sheet objectives.xls in your riverwar folder.

If you wish to know which version you have, go to GAME => Game Options and look in the title bar of the window popping up. Or press Ctrl-O from the main screen to go to this same window.

If you do not own one of the mentioned add-on disks, this scenario will be unplayable. I'm very sorry for this, but FW offers so many more options to a scenario builder that it's not worth the trouble making scenarios for earlier versions.

Because I wanted to keep this scenario's download size within reasonable limits, I did NOT include sounds effects and music files in this version. If this bothers you, or if you are annoyed by strange sounds you do not want to hear, please simply turn OFF sounds and/or music in the game (both are toggled off by default at the start of the game).
